Yes, I can confirm what I just heard from Mark Manson, and I am following his advice already in my fitness club where women outnumber men considerably. However, I do not take it any further since most of these women are married. I made the same experience in Germany where I lived, worked and studied for 17 years. However, I had a totally different experience in Paris, France, where I lived and studied for 16 years and in Montréal, Canada, where I lived and worked for one year. Most of these French and French Canadian women did not wait till I started talking to them. They approached me right away themselves and started talking to me. I made a similar experience in Russia where I was a couple of times as a tourist. Women startet talking to me right away. Perhaps this is linked to the fact that both English and German are non Romantic languages, but French definitely is, and Russian to a certain extent as well. I am still amazed by their reaction, because I do not wear a sign on my head which says “I speak French and Russian”. I am currently living in Central Canada where 90 % of the population speaks English and 10 % speak French. Here I have to do the approaching usually myself first based on the previous eye signals these women gave me.
